I have created a local account with its own unique PSK however when keying in the password I cannot authenticate. Is there any logging I can check for authentication? in Aerohive Migrated Content

As it's a local user I presume that you've pushed out an update to the AP?

Otherwise logs look in: sh log buff | inc xxxx.xxxx.xxxx

where x's are your devices MAC address.

you could also enable the '_debug auth all' command before trying to authenticate again.
