We have a site with 25+ Aerohive APs.

Site with 2 SSIDs, one business SSID (nees) and another open, public SSID with CWP (MEGAWIFI).

Android devices randomly cannot access the CWP based SSID and get an error on the device (see error image attached). I have attached the Client monitoring of the device when it connects – no errors in that (see the zip file). It accesses the other business SSID perfectly fine. It gets an IP address from DHCP without issue. Windows and Apple devices have no issue on this SSID either.

Mix of AP121 (v: HiveOS 6.5r9.192624) and AP350 (HiveOS 6.6r1.2287 )

HiveManager details:

v8.1r2

Any thoughts appreciated.

Brad

There is a new security protocol in use by most major browsers (HSTS). You can read about that here if you're interested- https://www.chromium.org/hsts/

What this boils down to is that certain sites can request that they always be accessed via HTTPS instead of HTTP (which is less secure).

1.1.1.1 for instance will now require HTTPS. In future HiveOS updates this won't be a problem as we will change our default network settings to use something other than 1.1.1.1, however in the mean time the work around is to manually change these network settings.

To do this open HiveManager> Open Network Policy> Open SSID> Open CWP Object> Expand Advanced Configuration> Under "Network Settings" choose "Customize".

We recommend changing these to any internal address space. For example, we have had success using the following: 10.10.1.1, 10.10.2.1, 10.10.3.1, 10.10.4.1

Hope that helps!
