If you need the free version (Called Connect) then you can't download it, as the on premise HiveManagers are licence based.

Instead, you can sign up here:

https://www.extremenetworks.com/cloud-networking/

Then once you get the registration email select "connect" from the option menu you are presented with and you're good to go to configure your free cloud instance.

click the "I'll start with ExtremeCloud IQ Connect." option. It says start with as you can later update it to the full version (select) with an additional licence, but otherwise you can stay on the free Connect version.

You cannot download an on premise HiveManager without purchasing it, hence the free Cloud version.

Why do you need to download the HiveManager rather than just to use the Cloud version of the platform? As I say, you'll need to purchase it to have an On Premise version.

You can update the firwmare using the web UI and using the firmware dowload a the top of the page https://thehivecommunity.aerohive.com/s/article/Upgrading-AP-firmware-via-web-UI

However you'll still need somewhere where the AP is going to pull the configuration from.
