i have recently acquired an AP330 it was left behind by old company and would like to use in my house. is there a was to set up the AP or is it a lost cause?

You should be able to use the AP, we have a free ExtremeCloud IQ instance called Connect that has limited features but is geared toward home or small office use. This guide reviews how to register for Connect, if you're interested: https://thehivecommunity.aerohive.com/s/article/Registering-for-HiveManager-Connect

Once you register for a Connect instance, you'll want to add the devices serial number to your device inventory, which this guide covers: https://thehivecommunity.aerohive.com/s/article/Adding-and-Removing-Devices-in-HiveManager

If you get an error stating the device is in use by a different VIQ, please send the APs serial number to me at communityhelp@aerohive.com, and I can get that device freed up for you to use.

If you can tell me what kind of network you would like to set up (everyone has the same password, everyone has their own password, everyone has a username and password, etc), I can try to provide a guide to help you set that up as well.
