Currently APIs aren't supported on the virtual appliance of ExtremeCloud IQ but I would recommend reaching out to your sales engineer to see if API support will be added to the virtual appliance versions in the future.

In Hivemanager 19.5.1.7-NGVA I found "API Token Management" in "Global Settings". At this point "API Access Tokens" can be created. However, the help system says: "This feature is not supported on the ExtremeCloud IQ Virtual Appliance. " Why can API access tokens be created when API access is not supported?

Thank you for this answer. However, what can I do currently with an API access token?

If you are using an online ExtremeCloud IQ you can tie your API to the ExtremeCloud IQ instance with the API token. If you're using an on premises deployment, you won't be able to use the API token right now.

Thank you, Sam. Sounds a bit funny: It's possible to create a token but impossible to use it.
