I have configured syslog yet I am seeing no output from the HiveManager for syslog. What am I missing?

Assign syslog profile to network policy and then push config out to APs.

Thanks for any help.

I have. I added it under Configuration -> Advanced Configuration -> Management Services -> Syslog Assignments, and then I applied it under Network Policies -> MyPolicy -> Additional Settings -> Management Server Settings. Still it is not sending any information to my syslog server that is currently receiving syslog information from many of my systems.

Right, that would be HiveManager Classic. What is the HiveOS version that you are running?

Depending on your syslog implementation I would start with a packet capture to make sure packets are being sent by APs and received by syslog server.

I have a port monitor on the switch that the hive manager is connected to because I thought the syslog information was going to come from it. Tomorrow I will put one on an AP and see what Wireshark gets. I will let you know first thing tomorrow.

Thanks

@Gerald Moody I do not believe HiveManager has the option to forward syslog messages. Techs can correct me if I am wrong. The syslog settings in HiveManager Classic and NG pertain to Access Points.

I changed it to another server this morning. I applied the policy; resent the config to an AP and then the syslog server started showing the information from the AP.

Thanks for the information and help,

Gerald
