Hi @Sam Pirok ,

That's fantastic thank you. I understand and appreciate your time 🙂

Just checking with regards to the expiration of support on the AP130's as an example. After this date, they will continue to work within HiveManager NG I presume, but they won't be eligible for either firmware updates or support? - Is that right?

This is on the rare occasion that a customer choose to run their equipment for a limited period of time past the recommended life of the equipment.

Thanks,

-Jay

Your devices are under warranty so long as you have active support and they have not reached end of support, which you can check here: https://www.aerohive.com/support/end-of-life-products/

Hey @Sam Pirok, can I please have clarification that if I sell a customer 2 x AP130's and a 5 year HiveManager NG subscription that the two AP130's would therefore be covered under a hardware warranty for 5 years?

Presumably after those 5 years, we could sell the customer another 5 year HiveManager NG Subscription and they would be covered for another 5 years of hardware too?

Thanks in advance mate!

-Jay

Hi Jay, the AP130 will reach end of support on Mar 31, 2025, so you could currently sell them a 5 year key and they would be covered for 5 years.

However, even if you were to sell them another 5 year key after that, technical support won't be able to help the customer with the devices after the end of support date, and we won't be able to offer any RMAs for that model.

If the device model were not reaching end of life, everything you've stated would be accurate.

Happy to help! And you are correct, they will continue to operate as normal after the end of support date, but won't get any updates and won't be eligible for support even if the customer has active support with us.
