we have Summit400-24p - Version 7.6e.4 (Build 4) by Release_Master 04/27/07 07:15:14 switches
can we upgarade the software for free or there is any cost

You need an valid service contract for the unit to download the software on the support site and to upgrade.

The ExtremeWare Summits have all entered End-of-Life. As such, no support contracts can be offered.
That said, here are the v7.8.4b1-patch1-4 files for the Summit 400 - this is the last ExtremeWare release.
