I have a local DNS server (pi-hole) broadcasted as a dhcp option.

Although I have configured my 2 APs with static IP addresses and custom DNS (1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8), I see DNS queries from my APs at pi-hole log (APs query www.google.es every 2 minutes ).

CLI commands to each AP reports 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8 as DNSs.

Why APs are using my local DNS?

Kind regards

Hi Sergi, I’m a little confused here, are you trying to use your own internal DNS or a specific external DNS? 8.8.8.8 is Google’s DNS server, and 1.1.1.1 was recently purchased by Cloudflare I think, but both are external addresses. If you want to use your own internal DNS server you would want to set it to an internal IP address that you are hosting.
