You have a few options. If you are using templates and port types, then you can create different port types with different description. If you are overriding a template at device level configuration, then you can override the port type description name within the port configuration section.

ExtremeCloud IQ Port Description

When making a switch template in ExtremeCloud IQ, the port configuration settings allow you to create a description for a certain type of port. For example: If I was to name Port 48, tagged as a Trunk Port, as "Up Link", then all ports that are tagged as a Trunk would be named "Up Link". But, my question, is there a way to provide descriptions of individual ports. What if I didn't want all my Trunk tagged ports named "Up Link", what If I wanted to provide specific descriptions for each port. Such as "Office Desktop" for Port 1, "Security Camera" for Port 10, "Bob's Phone" for Port 20, etc. Is there a way to do this in ExtremeCloud IQ?

Thanks!
