AP510i serial number 5digit-hyphen-5digit not 14 digit cannot add

looking for some assistance, I just received 5 Extreme AP510i aps that I need to add to our ExtermeCloud IQ Pilot problem is, the serial number on the box are a 5 character string, a hyphen, and another 5 character string. In order to add to our controller, the serial number has to be 14 characters?

How do I proceed? I don’t want to open the boxes if I have to return these.

Hi Brad,

If it’s just XIQ and AP510i’s you’ve bought then you’ve got a bit of a problem unfortunately.

XIQ can only provide additional monitoring capabilities of the 510i, it cannot actively configure it. For configuration you’d need the Extreme Campus Controller or VX/NX Controller.

If you want to go the XIQ route, then you’ll need the AP510C’s which do work directly with XIQ.

Thanks , exactly what I thought, I’ve sent a request to the vendor to exchange the 510i’s for 510c’s. Glad we didn’t open the boxes. we received 23 510cx’s and antennae kit on the same order so don’t foresee an issue. Thanks for the quick response.
