I have a deleted devide that stays on the map.
The map shows this item:
Have you tried restarting XMC services? Sometimes I've had those type of weird issues and that seems to have done the trick.

I opened a support case. The first option that they presented me with did not work. It involved entering edit mode on the map in question and then holding shift and drawing a box around the item thereby selecting it and turning the text blue. The last step is to right click on the device, which should present you with an option to remove it from the map. Afterwards you would save the map as usual.

The second option is more complex and involves modifying the database on the command line. Probably best to engage GTAC if you need to go that route.
