topic Report on unused ports in ExtremeCloud IQ- Site Engine Management Center

Hi!

An old topic if any...

Is there a report/way to list "unused" ports with XIQ-SE ?

We are running mostly EXOS switches. I can't figure out how to use a FlexView or any other type of report. There is no data unless we have historical collection activated on each port which is not good nor even recommended for XIQ-SE performance (even if our configuration is quite powerful).

I found some tips about how to collect information with CLI (show port info + some filters). But not very handy...

Any help would be much appreciated !

Kind regards.

Network -> Reports -> Port Usage and the column Unused Ports ... or Port Usage Details and the column Used. Both are exportable to be manipulated in Excel for example.

This data should not rely on Historical Collection. It should rely on periodic updates of the interface tables and the port states via Network Monitor Cache (every 12 hours by default).

Hi Robert!

I tried this one but I have strange results : port reported unused but currently with status UP... Even of "collected" ports.

Weird.

Hi Zdeněk!

Nice. It does the job. We will use this until we figure out why this standard used/unused report is irrelevant.

Thanks a lot.
