Hi all,

I'm supposed to come up with an inventory of Extreme switches in our network. I can export the device list in the /world site, but it doesn't have members of my stacks. Example: Stack "MyStack" only shows one entry, making it impossible to tell if this is a single switch or a stack.

In my case, all my stacks are ERS.

What options to do I have to come up with a complete list of Extreme switches in my network?

Thanks.

XTRMUser,

We have used the script from Extreme's GitHub for the License Calculation... That should give you all the devices that require a license in a .csv file. Since each switch needs a license, the switches within the stack show up. You should be able to tell the stack they are in since it also has an IP Address column.

Thanks,

Bill

If you select a switch, a group of switches or all of them and right-click -> Export Serial Numbers you should be able to export full a full list of devices by IP including modules/slots/serial information (and other sensor/chassis type information). From there you can filter out what you don't need to see what you do.

See

https://extreme-networks.my.site.com/ExtrArticleDetail?an=000116063

https://extreme-networks.my.site.com/ExtrArticleDetail?an=000083011

There is a workflow available that pulls all the serials from any component so far the switch type is supported. YOu go to GitHub Extreme Networks.
ExtremeScripting/XMC_XIQ-SE/oneview_workflows at master · extremenetworks/ExtremeScripting

and search for Inventory check

Thanks Markus. Since this is a workflow, I have downloaded and installed it. I'll probably modify it to give us the info we want.

I do have this script, but Extreme people loaded it up and used. When I ran it, I had a mysql error on the 2nd step. So I didn't take time to pursue it further. But thanks for the link.
