Mine is a two step process.

Using XIQ, I do a weekly scheduled backup of the switch config. There is documentation on how to set this up. I have ERS and VOSS switches. ERS uses TFTP and VOSS uses SFTP.

Then once a month, I manually back the latest weekly backup to a different location, using WINScp. The backups are located (by default) at /usr/local/Extreme_Networks/NetSight/appdata/InventoryMgr/configs. There are directories numbered 1 to xx (21 in my case). I choose the ones that have the latest changed date. Inside those directories is a list of directories. Choose the most recent one (usually the last), and copy the files inside it to your backup location. Since I only have about 10 of the numbered directories (1 to xx) that are active, this process only takes a few minutes.

Now, if you're question was how to do this in one step, I don't know. Hope this helps.

Hello,

1. Go to Administration --> Options --> Inventory Manager
Check your SCP file transfer settings.

Either you need to provide the root user/credentials or you need to provide a non-root user that exists in the OS and change the directory paths to the /home directory for the specified user.

Installs on 24.7 or higher now have a feature that can automatically create these users and updates the options accordingly, but you need to check to see if things are correct.

Using "anonymous" will not work.

2. Right click the device --> Archives --> Inventory Settings

Make sure the File Transfer mode is set to "SCP" and make sure the script that is configured for use is for "SCP".

You can't have a script designed for TFTP with file transfer mode of SCP.

Once these are done, you should be able to backup the switch using SCP.
Check this out for help with figuring out what's wrong, or what GTAC will need to assist.
https://extreme-networks.my.site.com/ExtrArticleDetail?an=000107794

Thanks
-Ryan
