    <description>&lt;P&gt;I can imagine the following:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;alarm based on your criteria (device down) will trigger workflow.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;the workflow will check the topology layer through NBI and based on the response will do the action you want (email or nothing)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I think it is not a difficult one and something similar (workflow triggered by alarm) is already in examples at the github:&amp;nbsp;&lt;A href="https://github.com/extremenetworks/ExtremeScripting/blob/master/XMC_XIQ-SE/oneview_workflows/README.md" target="_blank"&gt;https://github.com/extremenetworks/ExtremeScripting/blob/master/XMC_XIQ-SE/oneview_workflows/README.md&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;good luck!&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <title>Device Down Alerts Workflow</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Is it possible to create a work flow that will use the Topology Layer field, so that a L2 Access switch will check if there is a L3 Core/Distro switch down before alerting?&amp;nbsp; The goal would be to only get one alert for the distro switch and not 40 alerts for every connected switch.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
