Hi Husam,

This Knowledge Base article may help:

https://gtacknowledge.extremenetworks.com/articles/How_To/How-to-add-sysName-or-deviceNickName-into-...

You should be able to add the sysname and remove the IP if desired.

Hi all,

Conosle shows the sysname of alarm source but oneview does not!

Is there anyway to let the oneview show the sysname of alarm source instead of its IP address?

Thanks
Husam
Thank you for your answer.

I did mentioned configuration, but it works out for console only. For oneview it is still same problem. All alarms are showed IP address in source not sysname.

Is there any more thing could be done?

Husam,

Sorry this did not provide the results you were looking for. I'm not sure of a way to have this information appear in OneView. Some functionality is migrating from Console to OneView as newer versions of NetSight are released. This may not be one of them that has been migrated yet.
You may want to open a new case with our GTAC group to confirm.

Hi Husam,
Just trying to make sure I understand what you're asking.
Do you have these two options checked and in Console the source shows host name of switch verse IP?

Or are you looking at the nickname field and that isn't present in Oneview?

Yes I have both of them checked. Sysname is shown in console alarm but is not shown in the oneview alarm!
