I have the implementation guide for Connect 2.05, which is the latest guide I can find.
It includes instructions for the Fortigate integration.

Yes, in order to populate the End System database, you need EAC, which updates the Fortigate. However, if you have EXOS switches and Identity Management enabled, that may populate the ES database without the requirement for EAC, it just has not been tested and is not officially supported.

I've tested the Identity Management with EXOS switches: it gives some information in CLI about IPs, hostnames and AD users for about 10-15% of switch ports. But the data could not be sent to Netsight.
