Hi all

Is there any way of delaying a device down alarm. I was thinking of tweeking the SNMP polling interval, but don't know if this will affect any other alarms.

Thanks
Tweaking snmp timeout/retries for the poll group will affect any devices in the poll group. If your alarms are generated via traps/informs/syslog then poll group changes won't affect those. It will affect any alarms based on contact to a device.

Out of curiousity what exactly are you trying to solve?

I am trying to get Netsight to wait 10 minutes to ensure a device is down before it generates alarms.
I had an issue with false positives as well. Within Extreme Management Center web portal, navigate to Administration > Options > SNMP and turn the SNMP retries and timeouts up to decrease the rate of false positives. Be aware, however, that increasing this increases the time it takes to be notified of a positive result for a device that is actually down.
