XMC - Discover Devices Using ICMP / PING ONLY

Hi,

We would like to discover devices with ping only.

We have follow this KB to use legacy console
https://extremeportal.force.com/ExtrArticleDetail?an=000058862

But when we use "Discover Networks" it find no devices!!
No problem if we add devices one by one with "Add device"

XMC version 8.5.6

Hi,

it would be great to be able to draw a link to a "PING" only device in the maps from a device that is fully SNMP managed. In this way the link status would only come from one end of the link but it would allow for visualization of connections to things like servers where XMC access to SNMP credentials may not be allowed or to things like service provider routers where SNMP access is definitely not allowed.

Ok for the roadmap in XIS- SE.

But it should working in legacy console .... as in KB

Map link is between ports. the ICMP device does not have any port. It is not an easy modification. Please work with the local Extreme Systems Engineer with the opportunity details to create Feature Request.

The PING ONLY discovering function, per the GTAC KB, only works in the legacy console and only works if the 32-bit version of Java Runtime Engine (JRE) is installed on the client system. If only the 64-bit version of JRE is installed, the legacy console ICMP/PING ONLY discovery function does not work.

As Zdenek stated, this feature will become available in a future release of ExtremeCloud IQ - Site Engine. It is not destined for XMC.
