xmc alarms by device name not IP address

I want XMC to create alarms , that have the device name rather or including the device IP address, we have over 800 devices on site , so a name on the email is more informative than and IP address

$deviceNickName should provide what you are looking for.

yes |I am many thanks , next question , I want to increase the polling time for SNMP to the hardware devices as currently we have multiple systems using SNMP while we work on XMC and we are getting a few false positives.

I had an issue with false positives as well. Within Extreme Management Center web portal, navigate to Administration > Options > SNMP and turn the SNMP retries and timeouts up to decrease the rate of false positives. Be aware, however, that increasing this increases the time it takes to be notified of a positive result for a device that is actually down.
