So, in order to achieve having two sites with the same service but different VLAN, I had to create two different Service Definitions, and in each I had to add an application.

What didn’t work for me is creating a Port Template of type “Switched UNI” so that I can choose it in the service definition. As soon as I create one and hit save, it goes back to none and becomies “Global” location. That might be a bug.

If anyone tried it, let me know.

That is it for my messing around with Fabric Config on XMC 🙂

Hi,

There is a feature in XMC to import VLANs from devices into the site. But now, I want to try to use XMC to manage my DVR domains and services on our fabric.

1- I find that I don’t have an option to import the VLANs / L2 VSNs for my Service Definitions. So I have to manually go in and define all of that. I can see that when I do switch reload under device configuration, it gets the data in the services tab, but pressing save doesn’t add to site. Anyway to do it, or a future feature? it will be very tedious to manually type all.

2- I tried to assign a test Service Definition to my site, but the drop down list under Services Tab under the site is always showing “<none>”… even though I have defined a Topology Def and Service Def. Where is the missing link here? is there somewhere I am missing to link a site to a definition? Wherte do I link the Topology Definition? maybe that is what I am missing.

3- in 8.5.5, in port templates, when adding a new port template the fabric enable is always greyed out, I can’t select anything there. am I missing a step?

4- Correct me if I am wrong, but if I have a single fabric, with multiple domains… I would I have a single Topology Domain and a service definition per a dvr domain? (or site)… why would I have multiple topology definitions?

Thank you all for helping me out in the new endeavor 🙂

I figured out I Was missing a step for #2, I see now I need to assign a Topology Definition under the site.

However, I have a setup where I have two sites, each site is a domain, and I have a Service which is VLAN X in one site, and VLAN Y in the second site… But I am not able to configure that in the service definitions L2 VSN as it doesn’t let me create two L2 VSNs with different VLANs…

Thanks,
