Hello.

When I open select a device and right click and choose Configure then Ports I'm able to change the port template on the port to Access but it does not get changed on the switch?

This feels similar to the problem I faced with changing auto negotiation on a port with a PT assigned, but I was expecting I could change the PT type for a port but seems to be not recognised as a change when I check with enforce preview it shows the current and desired to be the same.

I don't expect or want to go through the CLI to make these changes.

ZTP+ assigned the port as interswitch PT which resulted in STP settings:

configure stpd s0 ports link-type point-to-point 2
configure stpd s0 ports loop-protect on 2

This causes issues for PCs and the port stays in Listening mode. If I disable STP the port forwards traffic.

So, I need to be able to change to PT Access but I cannot do this from Site Engine.

PT Access and my preferred choice:

configure stpd s0 ports link-type edge 3
configure stpd s0 ports edge-safeguard enable 3
configure stpd s0 ports bpdu-restrict enable 3

I can probably fix this by deleting the device and going through ZTP+ again but I shouldn't have to do this.

Did you enforce your changes to the switch?

What is the switch?

I clicked Enforce Review but there were no differences so nothing to enforce.

Hi,

is my understanding correct:

You changed Port Template from XXX to Access.
The enforce preview does not show the difference.
When you run ZTP+ then the Access port has a different STP setting than port template XXX.
The request/suggestion/solution is to include STP properties setting to the port template.

Hi,

After using ZTP+ I want to be able to change the PT for any port but not able to enforce this on the switch, the port configuration in Site Engine can be altered but when I check the STP settings they do not change to reflect the PT I selected. Access sets up a Safeguard Edge with BPDU Restrict. The port sticks with the Interswitch PT STP settings from ZTP+.

You changed Port Template from XXX to Access. [RD] The port template for each port does not even match the settings on the switch. Show stpd s0 ports shows all the ports are the same type. I have ports which are access ports and they should show up with different flags.
The enforce preview does not show the difference. [RD] Enforce Preview does not pickup any changes needed when I alter the port template on a port.
When you run ZTP+ then the Access port has a different STP setting than port template XXX. [RD] Even without ZTP+ I'm unable to change the PT on a port on an X435.
The request/suggestion/solution is to include STP properties setting to the port template. [RD] I need to be able change port types through Site Engine for different purpose ie PCs, routers, interswitch.

I can disable or enable a port and this is reflected when I use Enforce Preview. But not able to change port templates and see anything change on the switch. Tried sync from site, tried save, tried Enforce Preview.

Hi,

I have a similar problem !
1. I've changed the PT configuration to set "Trusted" for "DHCP Snooping"
2. I've saved the change
3. I've configured (right-clic then Configure) the device to assign the PT to the port (before : <local_settings>)
4. Enforce Preview (Desired : DHCP Snooping : Untrusted --> this is not what I want)
5. Enforce. Without surprise, no change on the switch

What am I missing ??

I'm on 25.08.11.12 !
