Hello Rahman,

set port broadcast fe.1.1 200

This setting for port broadcast is a rate limit. More than 200 broadcasts per second will be dropped.

There are no counters tracking the number of policed/above-rate-limit-dropped packets - no logging option associated with this command, no action-taken option.

Use snapshots of the show port counters command to monitor the inbound broadcast traffic.

rmon history may also be of use to you here.

Best regards,
Hi,

When I limit broadcast with "set port broadcast fe.1.1 200" and the port receives more then 200 pps, what happens than? Does the switch drop the broadcast packages greater than 200 pps? If so, will the "discard" counter increase or it will drop them silently? Does it disable the port for a time period? Does it write a log?

I read the SecureStack documentation but did not get how can I understand if the port getting more than 200 pps.

Thanks

Hi Mike,

So if the port is set to 200 pps limit and receives 300 pps constantly, will the ports broadcast counter increase like 200-400-600 ... or 300-600-900 and so on?

Thanks,
