topic C5 Communications Between 2 VLAN's in ExtremeSwitching (EOS)

Hi,

I'm a newbie here. I recently inherited a C5 switch and tried to setup 2 VLAN's. I have successfully created the 2 VLAN's, but the 2 VLAN's can't ping each other. The PC's can ping the switch's addresses in both VLAN's in a setup, but that's it. I have the PC's firewalls turned off but still no luck.

Another problem is that the VLAN's reaching the internet. I only have a home router and it doesn't support VLAN's or dd-wrt. So I would like the VLAN's communication within the switch. When I set the gateway to the router in VLAN A, VLAN A could reach the outside, but couldn't see VLAN B at all. VLAN B couldn't reach either VLAN A nor the internet. Setting the gateway to the switch, both VLAN can only reach the switch's IP using the other network IP, but not the other PC's . With this setup, neither VLAN could reach the outside.

I have looked up quite a few websites but still no luck. I have enabled rip, ip route, etc. Couldn't find ip forwarding command.

Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated.

Stan
