Hi,

I am trying to install a certificate to an Ethernet Routing Switch 5952GTS-PWR+ HW:08 FW:7.5.0.4 SW:v7.7.0.003

using the instructions in extreme article 000082379

I have used openssl to create the certificates using standard RSA 2048 bit.

I can import the root and intermediate certificates OK but when I try to import the key using:

switch(config)# certificate key <key-name> export sftp address <ip-address> file switch-key.pem user username

I get:

% Cannot modify settings
% Error parsing file

Does anyone know what the problem is?

Or does anyone know what format the .pem file should be in?

I have noticed that if I get the switch to generate a csr it is in some sort of binary or encrypted format not in base64 that I was expecting.

thanks,

Bar.

This is not really an answer.

but If you have this in a lab I would see if you can replicate the issue in v7.8.2.X

https://extremeportal.force.com/ExtrDownloadDetail?id=a412T000000cdh5QAA

Thanks Paul,

It’s not in a lab, so this will have to wait until I’m back off leave in a couple of weeks. I’ll let you know how I get on!

Bar.
