No, the ERS4900 & ERS5900 can only act as BEBs.
There is no conversion possible to VSP for these models.

The only "Baystack" switch which was capable to act as BCB was the VSP7024, which was named "VSP" without actually being one..

Hello , community.

I am curios of SPBm, and going to get some second hand 4950 for a lab, but confuse of VSP, ERS, fabric attach, fabric connect, BEB, BCB, my first question is could ERS4950 act as BCB/BED, such two 4950(BEB) connect an intermediate 4950(BCB)?

I saw ers48 could be convert to vsp48, any possible to convert ers49 to vsp49?

Hi

wait for the Master´s response but I belive that , at least the ERS4800 family only can act as BEB, this has relationship with "overload bit", so I belive that ERS can´t reencapsulate SPB traffci to other node, so I belive that both families (ERS4800 and ERS4900) works as edge bridge.

About change from ERS to VSP this was done in very early releases with an usb and some configuration steps, as ERS as EOL I ddont think you can find it.

I have more questions: does vsp4850 support act as bcb? and if it does, then is it implement the full bcb feature as vsp7000 series?
