Hello All,

I am planning to upgrade the firmware of a few VSP 8284XSQ switches from 8.5.4.0.GA and 8.8.2.0.GA to the latest firmware 8.10.6.1.GA. What path should I take to do the upgrade, or can I go directly to the destination version?

According to the release notes you can go direct to 8.10.x.

Hello,

You cannot upgrade directly from 8.5.4.0 or 8.8.2.0 to 8.10.6.1. You must follow a stepwise upgrade path, as only specific versions are supported for direct upgrades.

Validated Upgrade Path for all Switches
Validated upgrade paths:

8.9.x to 8.10
8.8.x to 8.10
8.7.x to 8.10
8.6.x to 8.10
8.5.x to 8.10
Note
For any versions prior to 8.5.0.0, an intermediate upgrade is recommended because pre-8.5.0.0 versions are not validated.

In sum, 8.5.4.0.GA and 8.8.2.0.GA could be upgraded directly.
