topic RE: Why are green LEDs blinking on ports that are not UTP connected? in ExtremeSwitching (EXOS/Switch Engine)

Jeon, there were a few issues in the past in which X460 ports would go into a shutdown state, though the port would display Active and the LED would be green.

Looking into this there were two possible causes along with next actions:

1. Hardware - Please run extended diagnostics on the switch and verify whether any of the tests come back as failed. Also confirm whether the symptoms return after the reboot.

2. Software - As mentioned above, there was a rare issue with the PHY in which the state would not change. This was resolved in EXOS 16.1. It would be recommended to upgrade to v16.2.2.4-patch1-3 and monitor the ports to see whether the issue returns.

Let us know if there are any questions.

UTP is not connected but the green LED is blinking on the port.
Disabling a port will also mark the link status as active.
I have treated the equipment three times with the same symptoms, but I get the same symptoms.
I wonder how these symptoms come out and how to solve them.

In the picture below, ports 21 and 24 are not connected to the utp but a green LED
Coming in. If you disable port 21, the link is enabled as shown below.
