I have a X670G2-48x-4q switch and placed a BASET transceiver In the log I noticed the message:

The configuration for the BASET optic module is not correct - please configure port 40 for auto-negotiation On and speed 1000.

For some reason a 100 mb device cann't get a link on the switch.

Are 100 Mb devices not supported on the X670?

You are correct, the combo ports will only operate at 1 Gig, they will not run at 100MB. The only X670 that supports 100MB is X670-48t.
