yes this should be possible.
Also from 15.6 exos supports python scripts.
Please refer page 377 in 15.6 concepts guide.

We're using 'rancid' (http://www.shrubbery.net/rancid/) to backup the configs and track changes of all our switches. Rancid is basically an automated ssh/telnet connect tool that grabs the config and stores them via CVS - with a web-based front-end to look at the configs or changes.
I had to make minor modifications to the "..login" and "..rancid" scripts to make them work properly with EXOS
Frank,

can you share here the changes you made to scripts in case others are interested in exploring the tool?

Thanks!
Disclaimer/CMA time: I know it's neither elegant nor pretty, but I modified the ?login and ?rancid scripts so they work for what I need them to do. I also added a line to "rancid-fe" to support the vendor "extreme" tag (and call the proper scripts)
They're all in the attached .tgz file.

It's quite possible that there is better/proper support built in to rancid or available through the forums.

And I don't know how to attach a TGZ file - I'll try to email it to you.
