Hi Scott,

What kind of GBIC it is? I mean, if the GBIC is fixed to 1 Gbps only and it doesn’t support 100 Mbps, I’m not sure if your switch is able to do that. You have to make sure that you have a 100-capable transceiver first.

BTW found this recently in some newsletter, nice tool regarding in-house transceivers: optics.extremenetworks.com/

There is some odd note about two in-house 100BASE-FX modules for X440-G2 by the way if you click or hover: “ min. S/W rev. 21.1.1. Supported only on 24 SFP ports on X440-G2-24x-10GE4 (16538). Not supported on SFP combo ports or SFP/SFP+ uplink ports“

I didn’t work with these 100 meg modules.

Hope that helps,

Tomasz

I have installed the 10G License on my X440G2-12p. I put a 1GB GBIC into port 14 and am trying to execute the following:

# configure ports 14 auto off speed 100 duplex full

Then I receive the following error:

Error: Speed specified is not supported on port 14.

Any ideas how I can manually set the speed to 100?
