issue with X440-G2- 48P port problem

Dear Extreme comunity,

I am facing problem with switch if i connect on 3 meter cable. Connectivity is fine then. But when cable's length varies suppose if length is 10 or 20 meter then there i am facing connectivity problem. What might be the exact problem.

Copper/fiber?

I’d double check the longer cable (try using another one). If it still not working, if that’s copper, I’d call GTAC to investigate the hardware. If that’s fiber, I’d make sure that transceivers are not faulty (e.g. to ultra-low Tx power due to some failure). If the cable and the transceivers are ok, I’d call GTAC.

can you describe “connectivity problems, please?

Did you check “show port <portnumber> txerrors / rxerrors?

Dear stephan,

When i restart the switch. Upto 2 minutes connectivity is Ok then after that time period again on user side port goes down while on switch end port status shows green!?

what clients are on the "user" side?

What is the output from "show log" if the problem occurs?
