topic Connecting EXOS as FA-Client with two VSP Fabric Server in ExtremeSwitching (EXOS/Switch Engine)

Hi Guys!

I'm trying to redundantly connect an X440G2 to two VSP-Fabric-Nodes.

I tried to create a port sharing on the two uplink-ports of the exos switch, but that didn't work. Just connecting the uplinks and hoping that the fabric will take care of redundancy didn't work either.

The documentation mentions so many different technologies (IP-Shortcuts, SMLT, V-IST, MLAG) that im not sure anymore, how to realize the above.

Can you give me a hint, how to configure that or which way/technologie would be the correct one? Maybe this isn't even possible at the moment?

Hi,

On the 2 VSPs, you create an SMLT cluster with a vIST, and the port are in a LAG (with or without LACP). On the other end, EXOS, this is a LAG with or without LACP too.

Have a look at that script for XMC that does it (doesn't work with VOSS 8.0 for the moment):
