Hello Holger I am not aware of any place that shows the last time the counters were cleared. Counters are clerked when you enter the clear command or when the switch is rebooted. I haven't check the newer code so ther may have been changes. I will check and see if I can verify. P

Hi,
i need to know when the counter of the port statistics was reset last time. If i only enter show port statistics it display the actual date and time(which is not very helpful) and the statistics.

Does anyone know where to find the last reset time....or port statistics since...days?

Thanks in Advance

Hi,

to know how long the counter was reset is essential. In Cisco IOS you find the last reset time of the counter. So you can see how long traffic was not seen on interfacers and can declare them as not in use. If i now reset the counter i have to note this and communicate to my team, so in some weeks we now how long the port was not used.

Any suggestions?
Do a "show log" and you'd see the date/time at which the "clear counter" was done.....

X430-48t.9 # show log
okay, thats a good workaround, but this shows only short terms. The logfile doesnt keep data from weeks or months

A syslog server can be setup to store log messages over a long period of time.
