I think i’ve run into a similar problem, try checking that the inbuilt switch clock is somewhat up to date.

What I found was that the switch clock had basically reset itself (due to a lack of power and sitting on the shelf) and this effected the ability for the software image to validate, probably due to the date being completely out of whack.

Try setting the time manually or locking onto a SNTP/NTP time source.

Hello all,

I am trying to upgrade the firmware of our Extreme switch from version 21.1.3.7 to 30.5.1.15.

I am getting the following error when trying though.

<Erro:EPM.Upgrade.Fail> Upgrade failed, script: Can not validate image

Any ideas? It is capable of upgrading to version 30+ correct?

I would try a slightly older version.

https://www.extremenetworks.com/support/compatibility-matrices/sw-release-extremexos-eos/

It looks like EXOS 30.4.1.2 is the supported version for that model switch.

Thanks for the help so far. I will check the MD5 Checksum to make sure again.

I can also give an older version a try too.

The time does appear to be off, but only by a few hours. I can try changing it and seeing if the results are any different even though it’s just a little off.
