Hi Roy,

Yes, MVR is a way of forwarding multicast traffic between VLANs without PIM, which is helpful as MVR doesn't require any specific EXOS license to use, unlike PIM.

You can find MVR setup guides here:
Dynamic MVR: https://extremeportal.force.com/ExtrArticleDetail?an=000080491
Static MVR: https://extremeportal.force.com/ExtrArticleDetail?an=000082539

And more info on MVR in general in the EXOS User Guide (Starting on page 1817):

In a simple one router network, you can use MVR without PIM, right?

Probably a dumb question, when the igmp join hits the mvr enabled vlan does the receiving vlan get flooded or does it go straight to the host?

Hi Roy,

Traffic would be flooded on the 'receiver' VLAN.
