Disable multicasting

Hi,

I would like to disable all multicast traffic flowing accross the network, for example i would like to stop the switches showing what that are capable of? My thoughts were to disable icmp & ipforwarding?

not sure what you are trying to do but if you disable icmp and IPforwarding all that is not allowing the switch to respond to ping and killing IPF just kills routing between vlans on common switch with ip interfaces and subnets. Does not effect multicast traffic on the vlans.

You could try disable igmp and disable ipmcforwarding. Otherwise you have to create multicast ACLs to block the traffic.

Thanks Hagemann, this is also what i was attempted to disable. Can you send link to create ACL to block this traffic?

I need to disable insecure ciphers and algorithms showing their availability.
