X870 serial port Error: E749: empty buffer

Hello together,

I tried connecting to a X870 (Firmware: 30.2.1.8) via the serial console, but the only thing I got back was this message:

“E749: empty buffer”

Unfortunately I was unable to find the source of this, maybe you can help me out with this.

Hi Nico,

Just a quick check: did you try to reboot the switch for another attempt?

This error sounds like Vim error message, [esc] and then ‘:wq’ might work but I didn’t encounter that on EXOS so far to be honest.

Hi Tomasz,

Unfortunately the X870 Stack with this issue got corrupt a few hours after I wrote. So I rebooted all slots, the VIM message dose not appear anymore.
