      <title>Extreme switch failed to use primary.cfg</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;hello everyone,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;We have an issue with some switch x450-48p and x440-24p.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;These switch when boot up did not load the primary configuration (that is previus saved), below the steps done:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;1)Boot up a switch that have factory default config&lt;BR /&gt;2)change account admin and do come configuration&lt;BR /&gt;3)save the configuration (primary and secondary)&lt;BR /&gt;4)power off the switch removing the cable&lt;BR /&gt;5)power on the switch inserting the cable&lt;BR /&gt;6)At this point the switch always start with factory&amp;nbsp; default configuration&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Tried force the primary conf with: &lt;EM&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;use config primary, safe config&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/EM&gt;same problem.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Below logs from the switch after point 5):&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;12/07/1919 09:15:39.69 &amp;lt;Info: HAL.Card.Info&amp;gt; Switch is operational&lt;BR /&gt;12/07/1919 09:15:39.65 &amp;lt;Noti:BOOTF.Client.AutoPrvsnEnb1&amp;gt;Auto-Provision is enabled on the switch.&lt;BR /&gt;12/07/1919 09:15:37.29 &amp;lt;Info:AAA.authPass&amp;gt; Login passed For user admin through serial&lt;BR /&gt;12/07/1919 09:15:33.01 &amp;lt;Noti:EPM.system stable› System is stable.       <description>&lt;P&gt;To me this sounds like it's an empty CMOS battery that's required to keep the NVRAM alive.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;As soon as you pull the power plug the empty battery can't do its job and you lose the config (and anything else in NVRAM).&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Extreme wouldn't sell you an entitlement on End-of-Life products, so you wouldn't even be able to buy support for the legacy x450 or x440.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;If it's because of the empty battery, you could save the config as default.xsf. This will be loaded, if your switch is 'empty'.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
