Hello,
unfortunately I had to realize that the switch logs are empty after a power failure. Or the last entries are several weeks old (Power failure was on 17.01.25 the last log entries are from 06.12.24. I know for sure that there were log entries because I checked the log on a switch last week). Is this normal? How can I change this? This has happened with 8 pieces with the following Firmware 32.7.1.9-patch1-49 and models X440-G2-24T-G4, X460-G2-48T-10G4, 5420F-24T-4XE- Switch Engin

log settings:

# show log configuration
Debug-Mode: Disabled
Show Message Privilege: Administrative
Enabled TLS Ciphers: aes128-sha, aes128-sha256, aes256-sha256, dhe-rsa-aes128-sha256, dhe-rsa-aes256-sha256
Disabled TLS Ciphers: None
Syslog TLS TCP User Timeout: Default
Syslog TLS OCSP: On
Syslog TLS OCSP Attributes:
Nonce : Off
Signer ocsp-nocheck : Off
Override Server URL : None

Log Target : memory-buffer
Enabled : yes
Filter Name : DefaultFilter
Match regex : Any
Severity : Debug-Data (through Critical)
Format : MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM:SS.hh <Severity:Component.SubComponent.Condition>
Buffer size : 1000 messages
Percent Full : 62%
Full Alert : 90%

Log Target : nvram
Enabled : yes
Filter Name : DefaultFilter
Match regex : Any
Severity : Warning (through Critical)
Format : MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM:SS.hh <Severity:Component.SubComponent.Condition>

Log Target : console
Enabled : no
Filter Name : DefaultFilter
Match regex : Any
Severity : Info (through Critical)
Format : MM/DD/YYYY HH:MM:SS.hh <Severity:Component.SubComponent.Condition>

kind regards
Silence4eveR

This by design. Logs with severity Warning through Critical are retained after a power outage in the nvram which you can see with below command.

show log messages nvram
