Netlogin IP Address of Clients not Displaying when using Policy Mode

I found this KB https://extreme-networks.my.site.com/ExtrArticleDetail?an=000087907 but it doesn't really explain why and its quite old. Why can't I see the IP Addresses of clients when using Policy Mode versus whatever else? What other mode can I use, just dynamic VLANs sent back via RADIUS instead of policy names e.g.: tunnel attribute?
