topic ExtremeControl assigned vlans + bpdu-restrict in ExtremeSwitching (EXOS/Switch Engine)

Good Afternoon - We currently have bdpu-restrict enabled on all edge ports. We're looking into assigning VLANs automatically using extreme control and have it working for the most part. The only issue we have is that if we remove the VLANs from a port, we're no longer able to apply edge-safeguard or bdpu-restrict eg

Slot-1 Switch 1# configure stpd s0 ports edge-safeguard enable 1:1
Error: Port 1:1 is not a member of STP domain s0
Error: Command aborted due to input errors, no changes made

Is there a way of getting around this?

We're using EXOS 33.6.1.14
