Upgrade EXOS 16.2 for BD 8800 MSM-48c

Hi expert,

We are going to upgrade EXOS from release 15.3.2.11 to 16.2.1. Current HW is BD 8800 MSM-48c.

Please advise if release EXOS 16.2.1 does support current HW MSM-48c? And anyone already do upgrade it? please share your experience

Hi Luc,
When I look at release note of 16.2.1.6 version, limitations for MSM-48c are specified.

I believe that implies the version is supported on MSM-48c.

The version you are going to use is supported and I run it on my chassis currently. Since you are already running 15.3 all of the blades you have will be supported too. Other then that you are good to go.

Thanks for your prompt respond. It is ok that EXOS 16.2 support HW MSM-48c. However, customer raise a question that the ExtremeXOS Release Recommendations for BD 8800-MSM48c is EXOS 16.1.3.6-patch1-9.

Hi Luc,

The recommended EXOS version for MSM-48c is EXOS 16.1.3.6-patch1-9. However, there is a new patch (1-11) and an EXOS version 16.1.4 with some important fixes. I would recommend you to review the Release Notes for further information regarding all the fixes. You can access the Release Notes in the link below:

Also, please make sure the BD8k I/O cards also support that new release. That's really important.

The recommendation page is updated by 3 month period. And I could see the last update was 15 Sep as below:

To be sure the exact recommended version of now, it would be better to ask GTAC after creating case.
