topic X650 switches not sending WARN SNMP trap in ExtremeSwitching (EXOS/Switch Engine)

Hi,

we've come across a knotty problem with a deployment of Summit X650 switches in our network. About half of them send AAA:WARN traps to the SNMP server (and we can see the SNMP traps sent figure incrementing on Screenplay interface) which are duly received and update the Alarm list on the central network monitor.

The other half do not send the traps (Screenplay trap sent figure does not change) despite the trap Warn:AAA appearing in the log of the switch. We've tried to compare the configs and their are no apparent discrepancies or changes that might explain the phenomenom.

Has anyone come across this problem before?

thanks in advance

Leigh
Hi Leigh,

I had a similar behavior with some of our Summits. Please check your "snmp conf". E.g. "configure snmpv3 add target-addr ST.168044674.10550 param ST.168044674.10550_Params ipaddress transport-port 10550 from vr VR-Default tag-list EPICenter"

If there is a link to vr VR-Mgmt, no traps will be dispatched.
