I tested this years ago ( and wrote down the results ) Excuse my scrappy visio

Conclusion

If ip forwarding is disabled the router will

NOT forward onto vlan that is disabled

NOT forward FROM the vlan that is disabled,

The slight is exception is if the router OWNs the ipaddress it will always respond

But any for any other addresses on the subnet ie not owned by the router itselfs traffic will not be forwarded

my config
VLAN 1 IP adress is set, no ipforwarding, default route is set - gw is from same subnet.
VLAN 2 IP address is set, no ipforwarding.

I need management access from VLAN 2 subnet. Ex. there is Netsight in same VLAN/Subnet.
VLAN 1 should be used for connection to Radius.

in my case there is no need for ipforwarding between these two VLANs in the switch..

How does EXOS switch forward packets if there are two IPs set (in two VLANS) and ipforwarding is not enabled on both Vlans?
How does EXOS switch forward packets if there are two IPs set (in two VLANS) and ipforwarding is enabled for one VLAN only?

Could you advise how to configure switch for my scenario.
Thanks
