Our long time customer got some brand new X440-G2's for a new deployment.
As expected (...), they came with a mix of EXOS versions, 22.X and 30.2.
First thought was that we should upgrade them all to version 30.2, but that train seems to be no longer maintained.

As of today, according to ExtremeXOS Release Recommendations page [1], the recommended Maintenance version for X440-G2 is 30.6.1.11.
However, on Extreme Portal Downloads [2], version 30.6 shows up as being unmaintained (EOVM: 07/02/2020).
How can an unmaintained train be listed as the recommended version ?!?

Version 30.7 is listed as being maintained until 2023, and has an "Extended Life" tag, but that train is clearly too new for mass deployment.
Also, almost every published EXOS version in Downloads has the LATEST tag attached to it, which does not make any sense.

What's going on here ?
Which version should we choose for a new stable deployment ?
Why can't we get a straight and clear recommendation ?

I'll be sticking to version 22.7 for now, but please, pretty please, clean this up and get your official recommendations sorted out.

[1] https://www.extremenetworks.com/support/compatibility-matrices/sw-release-extremexos-eos/
[2] https://extremeportal.force.com/ExtrDownloadLanding

<content-quote data-username="Alexandr P">

Hello!

EXOS 30.7.1.1-patch1-23 was earlier recommended release. After upgrading to this release, many customers complained of SSH related issues (EXOS-27088 & EXOS-27541) and they were fixed in EXOS 30.7.1.1-patch1-54 build.

</content-quote>
You sure about that? According to the release notes, the bug was in 30.7.1.1 and was fixed in Patch 23. Brad also mentioned this here

Is there another SSH bug in Patch 23 which was fixed in Patch 54?

Best regards
Stefan
