If I choose to use MLAG do I hae to connect the switches togther for communication?
In order to trunk ports across 2 switches (MLAG?) do the switches need to be stacked? I have 2 X670's that I am using for ip storage to a Netapp. I have 2 ports on each Netapp head so I would like to connect one port from each head to each switch.
If I have to stack the switches what options are there? Can I use one of the 10 ports or do I have to use a module?

Thanks
Hey Vmacneil

To do MLAG the switches should not be stacked. MLAG is used when connecting one device to two separate devices. If you have the 670s stacked you can just use a regular LAG group to connect to the storage. A stack allows ou to lag across switches just like creating a LAG across slots in a chassis.

Hope that helps.

The core switches do need to be connected together using a link called the ISC. This link needs to be a LAG connection and if in a chassis or stack should be across slots/switches.

This is documented with examples in the concepts guide.
