topic RE: BFD BGP in ExtremeSwitching (EXOS/Switch Engine)

Hi,

+1 for this request. Having BFD tear down a BGP session without waiting for the hold timer would be a Big Win.

Doing this via OSPF doesn't really work for BGP sessions with other networks - it would work OK (I think) for your iBGP sessions though.
BFD BGP

Hi, all!

As I see in User Guide BFD can be used with static, OSPF and MPLS.
Is there road map for BFD with BGP or some workaround?

Thank you!

Hi,

maybe:

1)
- configure bgp on loopback
- advertise loopback address via ospf and configure bfd for ospf

2) configure ospf between two devices and configure bfd for ospf

BGP BFD is not available in EXOS upto 16.1.
This will be available from 21.1.

Meanwhile using loopback/OSPF on BGP connected interfaces wont work.
BGP will wait upto hold down timer expires/TCP session turn down.

We need to wait upto 21.1.
