Hi there,

Pretty new to Extreme. Have a Summit 7i and currently upgrading the OS. It had 6.1.5 on it and now I have upgraded it to 7.0.1 with bootrom 8.2. Now when I try to download 7.8.2 patch 2.5, I get an ERROR: Image too large. I thought the 7.01. would have expanded the memory for the 7.8.2 .xtr. What can I do to get pass this? thx
I beleive there is another file that you need to go to that version in order to increase the memory. Contact TAC and they might have a better idea.
Make sure you go through the release notes for 7.8.2 and verify the steps that need to be taken in order to upgrade from your 6.1 to 7.8.2
For the Summit 7i you need the Bxtr image rather than the xtr which is for the chassis based switches.

Check your BootRom revision is compatible (it's in the Release notes) before applying the upgrade too. I think it needs to be 8.2. (from David_Rickard)
